Awaited Meeting

It seemed that out of my walls I escaped,
From frizzles here and there draped
On a long forgotten tapestry of memories,
To an awaited rotten of only remedies.

I awoke to light so bright in view,
A gathering of all that I once had seen,
Greeting me with queries I readily knew,
Beckoning me further into its luminous hue.

Yet in freight my feet held its sacred ground,
Shuddering from all its unpardonable sins,
Stuttering where does the where begins,
Muttering why does the why skins.

But there he stood from a mile afar,
Grinning with eyes that dampened stars,
Face so familiar, even his circled scar,
Shedding behind all that held me in bars.

By his dead smile I felt created of leaven,
By his dead smile I knew we stood in Heaven.

“I am the sister you left behind, my love.
Scouring for your scent in all skies above
Knowing you breathed only dust from below
Wondering when will it finally blow.

I waited— I so long awaited,
For you to be equated, for me to be elated.
It is answered here in the final vow,
The when, the why, the where, the how,
Let us heal now. . .”
